Steven Wilkinson is originally from Scotland, where he received his undergraduate degree in History at the University of Edinburgh. He was later awarded his Ph.D. from MIT and has been teaching at Duke since 1999. Prior to joining Duke, he held fellowships at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies (1995-8) and the Columbia University Society of Fellows in the Humanities (1998-99). In addition he has received fellowships from the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, the US Institute of Peace, and the Social Science Research Council.
