Toxic Chemical Management in Massachusetts : The Second Report on Further Chemical Restriction Policies (1995)

The Mass. state leg. passed The Toxics Use Reduction Act of 1989 (TURA), that established a new set of responsibilities on bus. & gov't. Firms that used toxic chemicals are required to report on their use & prepare plans to demonstrate how they would reduce or eliminate the use of those chemicals or the toxic waste generated by the use of those chemicals. Two reports have been issued on its implementation. This, the 2nd report, has these objectives: to assess the Mass. experience with the state TURA prog. & how it relates to chem. restrictions; to deepen the econ. & policy analyses from the 1st report; & to reexamine the issues of further chem. restrictions in light of this analysis.
