Geoffrey Budworth has been tying knots for almost 50 years. Throughout the 1960s he served afloat on the tidal River Thames in London's river police putting his knotting to vital daily use. In 1982 he co-founded the International Guild of Knot Tyers, and is a past-president of the Guild, as well as a regular contributor to its quarterly magazine Knotting Matters. Previous knot books include Knots and Crime, a manual for criminal investigators and forensic scientists needing to identify knotted clues preserved at scenes of crimes. Geoffrey Budworth also acts as a knotting consultant to the British and the National Maritime Museums and occasionally broadcasts on TV and radio.
