Shahnameh The Persian Book of Kings

Abolqasem Ferdowsiwas born in Khorasan in a village near Tus in 940. His great epic, Shahnameh, was originally composed for the Samanid princes of Khorasan. Ferdowsi died around 1020 in poverty.
