Introduction: - The Beginning: This is a story of a boy who was born into very modest circumstances in a rural community in South Carolina. His mother died when he was three and his father died when he was five. He lived with his Aunt and later his sister before and during the Great Depression” of the 1930’s -The War Years: Joined the Army Air Corps in 1941, was captured at the fall of Bataan in the Philippines, survived the Death March” and spent three years and five months as a Japanese Prisoner of War”. -After The War: Dr. Campbell was married and returned to the University of South Carolina where he earned a degree in Pharmacy and practiced Pharmacy for the next two years. Later he entered Purdue University and received an M.S. and a Ph.D. Degree.
