At age 86, I remain in good health and fully sound of mind. Eighteen years ago, I was encouraged by my friends in the U.S. and abroad to write my memoirs based on my social, business, and military enlistee in World War II. Growing up in the ghetto of the Lower East Side in New York, I developed "street smarts" to meet many confrontations head on which encouraged me to become a star athlete in boxing, track, and gymnastics. Highlights of my life include a long friendship with President Nixon since 1960, and serving as a ghostwriter for many comedians following the tradition of What Makes Sammy Run? and Sergeant Bilko.
