Reho Wolfe was a strong-willed woman. You didn't tell her she couldn't do something. She'd prove you wrong every time. Many times she defied the expectations of society and accomplished what some said couldn't be done, or others said shouldn't be done. Determined woman that she was, she gained international recognition for her ambitions and accomplishments. Most who knew her, loved and respected--even envied her because she was able to live a life some only dream about, and her accomplishments dwarf those of many others. Her main reason for going to the wilderness was to educate her children, to give us not just book knowledge, but skills to deal with life and responsible problem solving. Yes, Mom knew that the Salmon River wilderness was a place where her children could touch life, along with learning self-discipline and responsibility. This is my recollection of Reho Wolfe.
