Portfolio Investment in Developing Countries

In this collection of papers, experts discuss whether the rapid increase of portfolio flows to developing countries will contribute enough financing to meet long-term needs. They also rate portfolio investments in emerging markets, show how investors could profit from emerging market funds, and describe two main barriers to capital flows into these markets. The many benefits portfolio investments bring to developing countries are analyzed, as well as the problems nations face concerning large portfolio inflows.
