Born in the Canary Islands in 1907, Josefina de la Torre was one of only two women included in Gerardo Diego's prestigious Poesia espanola (1934). Between 1927 and 1935 she lived in Madrid, impressing Federico Garcia Lorca, Rafael Alberti, Pedro Salinas, and others in the Generation of l927 with both her talent and beauty.
