Addresses the need for patients who experience symptoms & signs of an acute myocardial infarction (AMI) to ideally receive treatment within the first hour after the onset of symptoms. After the first hour, the benefit from thrombolytic therapy begins to decline rapidly, although benefit can be derived up to 12 hours after symptom onset.
