Janet Sternburg is the author of Phantom Limb, a meditation on loss and consolation. Her poetry and essays have been widely anthologized. Her photography has been honored with one - person exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico, as well as by extensive portfolios in Aperture and Art Journal; her work appears in many private and museum collections. She serves on the Board of Directors of PEN USA and also on the Visiting Committees for the Writing Programs at CalArts and Antioch University.
