Off the Beaten Path Mississippi

Freelance writer Marlo Carter Kirkpatrick lives in Madison, Mississippi, with her husband, wildlife photographer Stephen Kirkpatrick. Marlo is also the author of Extreme Exposure, the True Story of a Photo Expedition Lost in the Amazon. She and her husband collaborated on the coffee-table books Romancing the Rain, Wilder Mississippi, and To Catch the Wind. Both Extreme Exposure and Romancing the Rain were winners in the 2003 International Self-Published Book Awards. Wilder Mississippi was the winner of the 2002 National Outdoor Book Award and was the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association's 2002 Book of the Year. The Kirkpatricks' work has since taken them to destinations throughout North, Central, and South America.
