In 1920, Joaquin Buitrago, a photographer at the mental hospital La Castaneda, believes to have identified one of the patients. Matilda Burgos, as a prostitute he met years before. He manages to obtain her medical record, from which he'll learn that she was a country girl adopted by her uncle, and that she led a peaceful life until she came into contact with revolutionary activists. Eventually she was left to wander without direction and try all types of jobs.
