Mind in Need of a Desert

A collection of 59 poems with settings as far apart as Aleppo, Syria and the Kimberley rainforest. The poems are strongly descriptive with a wealth of information about people, places and events. Many of the poems previously appeared in publications such as 'Fremantle Arts Review' and 'Habitat'. The collection builds as a sequence of landscape meditations: poems of intelligence and perception exploring remote, rural and urban terrain. The central theme is the desert and the poems in this section bring the poet and the reader into a sense of relationship with the land's force and its strangeness.
