AUTHOR

Reed, Verner Z., Dixon, L. Maynard, Craig, Charles

SUMMARY

Six interconnected short stories about an old Ute Indian, Lo-To-Kah, most if not all of the tales pervaded with Indian supernaturalism, for which the author offers a brief defense in his preface. In most Native American tribes (as with most primitive peoples) the supernatural played an integral role. Thus one could expect to find the supernatural, to one degree of another, in fiction dealing with them. The frontispiece and ten illustrations are by Maynard Dixon and Charles Craig, and this was the first book illustrated by Maynard Dixon. Of the illustrations, seven are signed by Dixon, and he was responsible for all of the numerous vignettes and illustrations in the text.Reed, Verner Z. is the author of 'Lo-To-Kah' with ISBN 9780898755510 and ISBN 0898755514.
