Journal of the Philosophy of Sport

The only journal devoted entirely to philosophical issues in sport, the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport (JPS) publishes articles and reviews related to the philosophical exploration of sport concepts and the vital role sport plays in contemporary society. JPS encourages diversity in its approach and publishes articles in both the analytic and continental tradition, as well as those influenced by such anti-realist philosophers as Rorty and MacIntyre. Many of the articles in the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport focus on the expanding and exciting field of ethical issues in sport. Recent issues of JPS have also addressed topics such as realism versus anti-realism, moral attitudes, and aesthetic issues in sport. Specific articles that will be featured in upcoming issues include Normativity, Justification and (MacIntyrean) Practices: Some Thoughts on Methodology for Philosophy of Sport, Sports and 'The Fragility of Goodness', and Sportsmanship as Honor.
