Jerry Capeci's Gang Land

Jerry Capeci, a New York City-based reporter, columnist, and author for three decades, is one of America's foremost experts on organized crime. A frequent guest on network and cable television programs in the United States and Canada, Capeci is the author of The Complete Idiot's GuideR to the Mafia. He also has co-authored three top-selling books about organized crime and has written scores of articles for magazines and newspapers in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Since 1996, Capeci has written "Gang Land," an award-winning online column that evolved from a weekly column he wrote for the New York Daily News from 1989 to 1995. In 2001, The New York Times and People magazine wrote feature stories about Capeci and his online column, www.GangLandNews.com. In 2002, his "Gang Land" column began appearing regularly in The New York Sun. In 1996, Capeci and Gene Mustain co-authored Gotti: Rise and Fall (Onyx). In 1992, Mustain and Capeci wrote Murder Machine (Dutton). In 1988, they wrote Mob Star: The Story of John Gotti (Franklin Watts). In 2002, Alpha Books published a greatly expanded edition of Mob Star: The Story of John Gotti that included the full Gotti saga, from his rise to his death in a federal prison hospital. Capeci is also at work on his next book, Wiseguys Say the Darnedest Things: The Quotable Mafia, which will be published by Alpha Books in 2004.
