Born in Fremantle in Western Australia in 1967, Simon Mills started life on the wrong side of the tracks. It wasn’t really a troublesome childhood from his perspective, but his mother is now at least 168 years old in terms of worry. Schooled in Coolbinia Yokine Primary and possessing no particularly extraordinary talent in anything, Mills moved on to Mt. Lawley High School and then out into the world. Boiler-making, carpentry, car repair…Simon had a go at everything, until his father, Eddie Mills, was released from jail. With their newfound companionship, the father and son team took off around Australia in an enormous lorry which doubled as a mobile piano-tuning workshop. They tuned and repaired pianos right across Australia, and eventually parted company in Queensland shortly before Eddie took his own life, which he had always promised he would do. Simon armed with Eddie’s Irish wisdom and an unbreakable spirit, stepped into the world alone, ready for anything but still not quite prepared for everything. If you have the opportunity to hear the full Mills” story, you will be rewarded. Feel free to preview this interesting and oddly appealing fellow by browsing www.simon-mills.com and take a look at life through Mills spectacles.”Mills, Simon is the author of 'How to Steal from Banks: and Other Business Strategies' with ISBN 9780972492249 and ISBN 0972492240.
