Frances Moore Lappe is the author of more than a dozen other books. She is the cofounder of two national organizations that focus on food and the roots of democracy. In 1987, she became the fourth American to receive the coveted Right Livelihood Award, known as the "Alternative Nobel." Lappe was a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Anna Lappe voices the perspectives of her generation with a depth of experience from having lived and worked abroad, in South Africa, England, and France. She is a graduate of Brown and holds an MA from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
