Heritage of Native Americans

The heritage of family is very important. It tells us not only who we have been but where we are going. In a time not so long ago, many families forgot their roots and didn’t want to be associated with a particular race. A very insightful grandmother sat me down and taught me the ways of my race and my tribe: the ways of the Native American Indian. Now that it is acceptable to claim the heritage of the first nation in general and the Sioux and Cheyenne tribes in particular. It became my duty to my family and tribes to set in words and stories those that were passed down by my grandmother so they would not be lost. Within is a look at what life was like on the plains of North America; what life in the village and on the path would have been like; and the hardships and joys of life of the first Americans who settled an untamed land and lived in harmony with it for thousands of years.
