Governor's Disaster Planning and Response Review Committee Final Report, Florida, 1993

Report issued by the FL's Gov's. Disaster Planning & Response Review Comm. with recommen. for improving FL's readiness for future disasters. The report was prompted by the terrible destruction in southern FL caused by Hurricane Andrew (HA), the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. This report recommends numerous steps to be taken at all levels of gov't. & by volunteer org. The Committee used the unfortunate experience of HA to identify weaknesses in preparedness & recovery efforts, but it offers recommendations from a statewide perspective.
