: David Gurnick is managing partner of the Woodland Hills, California offices of Arter & Hadden LLP, a national firm with more than 300 attorneys in 10 offices. Mr. Gurnick has represented numerous franchisors and franchisees in litigation, registration and compliance, defense of government investigations, and dispute resolution in federal and state courts. He is an author of many articles on franchising subjects in the ABA Franchise Law Journal, where he served on the editorial board, as well as in various law review, bar journals and other publications. He has spoken on franchise law topics to the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, the International Franchise Association and other groups. He is co-author of "California Franchise Law Jury Instructions, (Matthew Bender) and "Unfair Business Law Practices" (Ch. 7 Franchisor - Franchise Agreements, Wiley). David is a 1984 graduate of Boalt Hall, University of California, Berkeley. He has been a court appointed discovery referee and judge pro tem in the Los Angeles Municipal Court.
