Melissa L. Kim has been writing about travel and the outdoors for more than a dozen years. Though she's a hiker, sea kayaker, camper, skier, and scuba diver, bicycling is her true outdoor passion. She started biking when she was in grade school in Massachusetts (in fact, one of the routes in this book passes by her former four-room elementary school), graduated to cycle touring in Rhode Island, and evolved into a bike commuter in New York and London. Since then, bicycles have taken her on tours all over the world, though researching, riding, and writing Foghorn Outdoors New England Biking took her to exotic and remote places that she never knew, right around the corner from her current home in Portland, Maine. Regionally, her words and photographs have appeared in the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, MaineToday.com, Natural New England magazine, Maine: Experience magazine, and publications of the Maine Audubon Society, The Wilderness Society, the Maine Island Trail Association, the Maine College of Art, and the Children's Museum of Maine. She has also written six children's books, edited two magazines, and contributed to various travel and children's magazines and publications. She holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Brown University and a master's degree in Journalism from New York University.Kim, Melissa L. is the author of 'Foghorn Outdoors New England Biking 100 Of The Best Road And Trail Rides', published 2005 under ISBN 9781566917445 and ISBN 1566917441.
