Exploring Adolescent Spiritual and Religious Development

This special issue adds to the growing empirical base on adolescent spirituality and religiosity; sheds light on definitional and methodological challenges in this field; and reveals new topics, research designs, and statistical procedures that will expand the understanding of spirituality and religion in adolescence. A major value is that some of its papers directly and statistically address conceptual commonalities and distinctions between spirituality and religion and how the two may function differently in development. In addition, some papers present illuminating definitions and conceptualizations of constructs, provide powerful new data-analytic approaches, employ novel designs, some address innovative research questions.
