The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) came into force in January 1968 and has since been amended by the Protocol which came into force in 1985. This two-volume publication contains Annexes A and B detailing the conditions under which dangerous goods may be carried, with amendments adopted in the years 2002 to 2004 which should enter into force in January 2005. The publication is organised into nine sections, but is still grouped under the two annexes to align with the wording of article 2 of the agreement itself. These sections cover: general provisions; classification; dangerous goods list, special provisions and exemptions related to dangerous goods packed in limited quantities; packing and tank provisions; consignment procedures; requirements for construction and testing of packagings, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), large packagings, tanks and bulk containers; conditions of carriage, loading, unloading and handling; requirements for vehicle crews, equipment, operation and documentation; requirements for the construction and approval of vehicles.Economic Commission for Europe is the author of 'European Agreement Concerning The International Carriage Of Dangerous Goods Restructured Adr - Applicable As From 1 January 2005', published 2004 under ISBN 9789211390971 and ISBN 9211390974.
