SUMMARY

Predictive models of dual task performance were developed with the cognitive architecture, Atomic Components of Thought- Rational (ACT-R), as well as the Improved Research Integration Tool (IMPRINT). The tasks modeled included a shooting task and a mathematical comprehension task, with the shooting task designated as primary. The models were designed to predict one specific type of error performance during the shooting task; in this study, errors were defined as enemy targets missed (ETM). ETM was defined as an enemy target that "popped up" but was never engaged. Preliminary results have generated ETM predictions via ACT-R and IMPRINT; these results will be validated by future studies.Army Research Lab Aberdeen Proving Ground is the author of 'Developing a Predictive Model of Dual Task Performance', published 2003 under ISBN 9781423585411 and ISBN 1423585410.
