Establishes a method to predict the noise generated in a control valve of standard design by the flow of compressible single-phase gas or vapor & the resulting noise outside & downstream of the valve. This method was developed from fundamental principles of acoustics, fluid mechanics & mechanics & makes use of valve sizing factors defined in ANSI/ISA-S75.01& S75.02.
