Colt and the King

John Winch is a fine artist, collagist, and author. He has illustrated many books for young readers, including Old Crump, by Laurie Lawlor, and Where Do You Sleep, Little One?, by Patricia Hooper, as well as The Old Woman Who Loved to Read and Keeping Up with Grandma, which he also wrote. He sketched out this book during Holy Week while listening to J. S. Bach's Passions, and based the style and colour of the illustrations on Renaissance frescoes.
