Candle making dates back to early America, and was created mainly as a necessity for light. Today we enjoy watching the flickering light from our candle, and are relaxed by the soothing aroma that fills the room. My desire to create candles began years ago when we had our cabin "up North." Our neighbor raised bees, which consequently lead to my interest in the bee hive and all its natural contents. My task began by melting the pieces of bee hive in a pot of water. After the wax cooled I was amazed to find a thick layer of golden colored wax floating on the top. The air was filled with this great honey scented aroma; hence a new hobby was born. Candle making supplies were hard to come by, and that necessitated some creative thinking through lots of trial by error. I documented my success, and began my quest for unique supplies that could be utilized for molds.
