When Jeff Lyon was growing up the Cowboys were giving away free tickets to their games in the Cotton Bowl and it was a long drive through mesquite-infested countryside from his home in Irving, Texas to see them play in Dallas. Jeff hunted for doves in the sprawling fields where international jets now land at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. Jeff witnessed Irving’s growth from a tiny-bedroom town to a sprawling suburb. That urban sprawl never stopped and it had reached a fevered pitch in Lewisville, Texas when Jeff joined that city’s staff as a health inspector.
