Clayton Mack (1910-1993) worked as a logger, fisherman and rancher before becoming a tracker and hunting guide. Descended from Bella Coola chiefs, he was known as both a walking encyclopedia of tribal lore and one of the best storytellers in the province Dr. Harvey Thommasen began taping Clayton Mack's stories during morning rounds at Bella Coola Hospital.
