Assessing and Managing User-Produced Training Support Packages

This report describes the conduct and results of a project to examine assessment and management of user-produced training support packages (TSPs) for collective training exercises in live, virtual, constructive, and combined training environments for combat arms organizations at brigade and below at present and for the next five years. "User-produced" refers to TSPs that are developed by unit commanders and other unit trainers as well as institutional trainers who will be directly involved with executing the exercises they produce. The major research activities consisted of: data collection, data analysis, and development of products to fulfill the project objectives. A major focus of data collection was coordinating with the ongoing development of the Army Training Information Architecture which will establish a framework within which the products of the current project will fit.
