Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments : Final Report

The Final Report of the Advisory Comm. on Human Radiation Exp. The Committee first met in April 1994. They conducted an intensive inquiry into the history of government-sponsored human radiation experiments & intentional environmental releases of radiation that occurred between 1944 & 1974. They listened to the testimony of more than 200 public witnesses. The Committee has studied the ethical standards of that time & of 1995 & has developed a moral framework for evaluating these experiments. Finally, the Committee has examined the extent to which current policies & practices appear to protect the rights & interests of today's human subjects.
